Submarine / Underwater Cables
Boroptik company offers the assurance of Hengtong products to its customers in the supply of submarine / underwater communication and energy cables, which are part of the investments made by telecom and energy distribution companies based in Turkey since 2004. Hengtong Optic-Electric Co. Ltd. (http://www.hengtonggroup.com/en/) is one of the world's largest cable system suppliers and Boroptik operates as a representative in Turkey.
Our company has supplied over 150 kilometers of submarine cables laid in Turkey to date. The main companies we have worked with include Türk Telekom, Vodafone, Armin Elektrik / BEDAŞ, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Metro Istanbul A.Ş., Limak, Building Center, Ghana Electricity Administration (ECG).
We provide fast service on fiber optic communication and submarine energy cables and with steel armored aluminum or copper conductors.
You can also contact us at any time about cable selection and design.
Underwater Fiber Optic Cables:
Submarine communication cables are often constructed with 12, 24, 36, 48 and 96 fibers and are constructed in such a way as to provide the breaking strength (kN) value demanded by the customer and determined by the natural submarine conditions and the marine traffic in the region where the cable will be buried. Generally, double or triple armor is used in cables. The armors used are round-section galvanized steel wires. According to the desired breaking strength (CBL-Cable Breakage Load or UTS-Ultimate Tensile Strength), the steel quality (Young's Modulus of the steel) and the steel wire diameter in each layer, hence the total steel cross-sectional area, are determined. Based on the breaking strength (CBL/UTS) value determined precisely as a result of the measurements in the factory tests, by taking certain percentages of the CBL/UTS value, the manufacturer determines the NTTS (Nominal Temporary Tensile Strength) of the cable, Indicates the NOPTS (Nominal Operating Tensile Strength) and NPTS (Nominal Permanent Tensile Strength) values. From these values; NTTS: It specifies the durability of the cable against instantaneous strong stresses that may occur especially during the collection of the cable. NOPTS: It indicates its resistance to stresses that may occur in processes such as cable repair and release. NPTS: It shows the continuous tensile force that the cable can withstand, which will not disturb the normal operation of the cable after the cable is laid. In addition to these values, the minimum bending radius and minimum bending radius are important, and the fact that this value is small indicates that the cable can be bent more without any problems, and that the cable can be kept in narrow spaces during transportation. Submarine cable manufacturers carry out their production in accordance with ITU standards. Compliance with the ITU-T standard is the basic criterion sought in cables. The mentioned ITU-T standard is ITU-T G.978. Terms and definitions related to submarine cables can be found in ITU-T G.972, and definitions of tests and measurements to be made regarding cables can be found in ITU-T G.976 standard. According to the requested cable length, the delivery is made with steel reels or 40 frame/cage containers.
Underwater MV / HV Energy Cables:
Suitable for various underwater environment conditions, copper or aluminum XLPE or EPR insulated Medium Voltage (7.2kV - 36kV max phase-phase) and HV (up to 500kV) armored with different cross-sectional area (1x120mm2, 3x240mm2 etc...) and number of cores. We supply submarine / underwater energy cable. Hengtong, which we represent, broke the world record in 2018 with the 18.15km 1x1800mm2 500kV XLPE submarine energy cable that it produced without any joints. http://www.hengtonggroup.com/en/news/news-detail-509399.htm. We will meet your demands as soon as possible as project site delivery or delivery to Turkey and/or different country ports you specify.
